I am an experienced bilingual education leader, instructional coach, and curriculum specialist with more than 20 years of experience serving students, teachers, and school systems across Texas. Currently, I serve as an Education Specialist for Reading Language Arts at Education Service Center Region 12, where I support districts in the implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), instructional coaching, and professional learning focused on literacy achievement and bilingual education. Throughout my career, I have held leadership roles as a district coordinator, instructional coach, curriculum specialist, and classroom teacher. My work centers on improving instructional quality, strengthening bilingual and dual language programs, and ensuring equitable access to rigorous, grade-level learning for multilingual students. I am also a doctoral candidate in bilingual education, conducting research on instructional quality, HQIM implementation, and the role of coaching in bilingual classrooms. Among my professional achievements, I have served as a Lead Reviewer and Review Coach for the Texas Education Agency Instructional Materials Review and Approval (IMRA) process, supported the implementation of statewide initiatives including HB 1605 and Bluebonnet Learning, and designed and facilitated professional learning for educators across Texas. I have also authored scholarly research on educator leadership, equity, and bilingual education and have been recognized for my expertise in curriculum implementation, instructional coaching, and culturally responsive practices that support student success.
