Promotel-Ring PlusCEO
Jan. 2001 - Dec. 2006Greater Los Angeles AreaThe company was originally founded as Promotel, Inc. in 2001 by Karl Seelig (COO & CIO) and two of his former graduate school professors, John Bonosoro (CEO) and Herb Cohen (CTO), with the goals of evaluating, testing patenting and implementing the ring back tone technology invented by Anita and Karl Seelig in 1997. In 2006, the company commenced operations under its current name RingPlus, Inc., and Karl Seelig became the CEO of the company. Karl then embarked to implement his vision of monetizing ring back tones as a social network, and to transform RingPlus, into an alternative for the telecommunications industry. His goal was and is to create a low-cost wireless telephone company, which places the consumer at the center of attention, and generates its revenue through advertisers rather than its consumers.
