Turkish / Spanish Media Artist, Filmmaker, Scriptwriter, Expanded Cinema Curator & Writer/Critic  Lara Kamhi is a filmmaker, visual artist, curator, and writer whose work explores the intersections of cinema, consciousness, and technology. Her practice investigates the spectral relationship between image, memory, and perception. Her body of work spans film, installation, and expanded cinema, often merging analog and digital processes to evoke immersive psychological landscapes. Kamhi’s early site-specific installations established her as a distinctive voice in Turkey’s media art scene, recognized for experiments that push the cinematic experience beyond the screen. As the only curator in Turkey specializing in expanded cinema, she has been instrumental in curating exhibitions that explore the medium’s evolving possibilities. In 2014, Kamhi founded PRIZMA, an independent initiative dedicated to Expanded Cinema. Through its platform Prizmaspace (2014–2016), she organized exhibitions, screenings, residencies, and collaborative projects that examined new cinematic forms across physical and virtual spaces. Continuing this trajectory, PRIZMAEXPANDED now curates contemporary approaches to Expanded Cinema, widening critical dialogue around how technological networks, immersive environments, and in-real-life storytelling reshape our ways of seeing. Kamhi has exhibited and presented her work at major art and film institutions internationally and has delivered talks and masterclasses on the future of visual experience, post-human aesthetics, and the politics of image-making. Her writings and video essays have appeared in notable art publications, and she currently writes for Aposto. Alongside her artistic practice, Kamhi has taught Visual Culture at Istanbul Kültür University, where she developed innovative curricula bridging film theory, philosophy, and experimental image-making. She also serves on the Prize Committee for AICA International’s Incentive Prize, contributing to the recognition and support of emerging voices

Sep. 2014İstanbul, TürkiyePrizma is an independent art initiative created by contemporary artist and filmmaker Lara Kamhi in order to investigate Expanded Cinema in its entirety. Collaborating and creating extended dialogues with artists and filmmakers, Prizma explores expanded cinematic art forms with the awareness of new ways of thinking suggested by technological communication networks such as Social Media, Immersive Environments and In Real Life Storytelling. Researching the virtual nature of reality and the realism of virtuality through the history of our gaze and the moving image, it aspires to formulate new approaches to contemporary cinematic artworks and widen the discussion in accordance to our changing ways of seeing. Prizma’s art initiative Prizmaspace has been physically active between 2014 and 2016, in Sıraselviler, Beyoğlu and hosted four group shows, three filmmaker screenings/ exhibitions, one artist residency and one open studio as well as having curated one screening in Witten, Germany. Its production company Prizma Productions Istanbul creates moving images and immersive environmental design ranging from homemade to large scale productions. Encompassing all previous experiences and gathering it all under a single roof, PRIZMAEXPANDED is currently curating contemporary approaches to Expanded Cinema.
