Within my responsibilities I overviewed the complete customs operations (import and export), more than 250 customs clearance daily, maintained good working relation with customs brokers assigned to the Toluca port of entry and generally supervised that importers, exporters, officials and brokers provided proper compliance with rules, regulations and procedures for customs clearance purposes.

During my work there I actively participated in the elaboration and modification of foreign trade rules; assist taxpayers when presenting a formal inquiry or petition in customs related matters by answering through official responses in writting that served the purpose of orientation or rulings. The main function was to receive, analyze and draft response letters to taxpayer’s formal inquiries in customs matters. I achieved a yearly response rate of +80% of presented cases; totals over 1,500 cases. I also participated in a structural reform of the Mexican SAT Internal Statutory Legal Instrument, published in the official federal gazette on December 3, 1999.
