The responsibilities include, but not limited to: discovery, pre-trial, and trial preparation, translation of legal and non-legal documents, research, coding, and analysis in extensive Summation database containing over 100,000 documents, summarize depositions, prepare and maintain notebooks, checklists, witness files, review of discovery documents and document production, and any other relevant information accurately and up-to-date. Prepare demonstrative and trial exhibits. Conduct legal research in Lexis, Westlaw, and foreign web sites. Also responsible for training and supervising new junior paralegal. Prepare and create summary judgment motion, reply brief, and response E-Briefs (creating links to PDF documents, videos, and images) to file with court, using in-house software (Sanction and Adobe 7.0). Also responsible for conducting and training attorneys and legal staff on E-Filing procedures. Responsible for creating and updating database to be used for pre-publication reviews log requests by Media/Broadcasting clients. Also responsible for maintaining and creating First Amendment Group database using MS Access software. Prepare client and trial presentations on trust administration issues, formation of LLC, libel and privacy, as well as seminars and meetings materials, quarterly and bi-annual reports.
Responsible for the analysis and translation of credit transfer agreement, sale purchase agreement, and other legal documents involving a radio station in Puerto Rico. Prepare flow charts and graphs for client in major company restructuring process for the tax group using MS Visio, drawing application software.
Research and analyze law sources such as cases, statutes, legal articles, regulations, and public records: coordinate document production including summarizing documents, reviewing documents, preparing documents for copying and production.
