The Communications GroupEditor
Oct. 1991 - Dec. 1993As editor of the electronics products/services magazine, 'Pulse', I was responsible for compiling a comprehensive features list and selecting and editing all articles therein. In January 1992 I introduced two new types of features into the magazine: The Electronics Application article which entailed me interviewing an industry representative (for example, an engineer at Caltex's refinery in Cape Town, for the Petrochemical industry feature) regarding the electronics equipment they utilise, any problems they may have and adaptations which they have made for special applications of a product etc. The article was then written by me and submitted for the interviewee's approval. The second type of feature was the company profile. A further feature which I added for 1993 was a focus on the industrial communications industry. With all modesty, I am proud to have been the first female, and youngest ever, editor of Pulse. I was also involved in editing the Pulse PLC Guide, the Controls & Drives Handbook and newsletters and catalogues for external clients. In 1993 I was wholly responsible for the editing and compilation of the Pulse Buyer's Guide, an industry handbook in excess of 700 pages. Reason for leaving : Started my own business
