Feb. 2025I continued working hands-on as a senior IC while leading the technical direction of the company. My focus was on architecture, platform reliability, cost efficiency and enabling the engineering team to deliver more with less. • Built and constantly evolved our anti-fraud system for our payment project. • Implemented IaaS (infra as a code) for the entire solution. • Drove a full cloud migration and cost-reduction strategy, eliminating dependency on a dollar-priced provider and significantly reducing operational expenses. • Redesigned core parts of the platform architecture to simplify services, improve performance and remove scaling bottlenecks accumulated over the years. • Implemented AI initiatives with real impact on product and internal workflows, speeding up operations and reducing manual work for multiple teams (RAGs and Machine Learning). • Led engineering efficiency improvements that allowed the company to maintain delivery velocity even after major team size reductions. • Guided technical decisions across squads, supporting system design discussions, reviewing critical implementations and jumping in hands-on when needed. • Completed a long-term stability and quality plan that brought the product to zero known bugs, solving a backlog that once exceeded 3,500 open issues. My role combined technical strategy with deep involvement in architecture, debugging, cost optimization and enabling engineers to build reliable, scalable and maintainable systems.

Feb. 2022Mentoring and helping leaders continue to grow (hard/soft skills) and be better leaders. Thinking and implementing strategies to improve the experience and performance of the entire Engineering team, ensuring they are comfortable and keep their careers constantly evolving. Being a hands-on Head to design and in some cases implement/code solutions and also do pair programming with developers to help in difficult situations and find solutions and optimizations to leverage and accelerate business, improve user experience and reduce cloud costs. From 2021 to 2023 we grew up 10x and reduced cloud costs +50% and reducing drastically production incidents. We had to reduce the team by 75% but we increased speed and quality (we have the RA1000 Badge from Reclame Aqui). Looking to find and enable engineering opportunities and impact on multiple fronts such as code, infrastructure, as well as business and marketing (e.g., using podcast participation to help the company increase its reach and improve its technical positioning publicly). Always keeping the alignment with Heads and C-Level.
