However, my primary focus has been in Zambia and the GETFiT programme where I am solely responsible for project development. Being the only employee in Zambia, I am responsible for managing different aspects of the project from accounting, tax compliance, company secretary legal compliance, engineering, site management and stakeholder engagement amongst other responsibilities. I have been involved in renewable energy bid preparation and co-ordination to ensure compliant bids in South Africa under the Risk Mitigation, Round 5 and Round 6, Battery Storage Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (“REIPP”). I have also worked on Namibian projects and private offtake agreements with Africa GreenCo in relation to the Southern Africa Power Pool. Conducting due diligence on land related agreements and corporate documents for acquisition of potential solar PV and wind projects as well as drafting of finance termsheets, acquisition agreements, joint development agreements and other related documentation have been part of my main responsibilities. In Mozambique where a solar project was acquired, I was involved in managing external legal counsel and the conditions precedent fulfilment processes as well as collaborate with different departments and external teams to ensure timelines were met in preparation for financial close. Providing input to businesses development strategy, identifying and communicating all project barriers and risks together with mitigants and strategies to overcomes those barriers is a key part of my role.
