✪Drafting and reviewing policy briefs, statements, and official communications for Cyprus’s participation in UN meetings. Ensured alignment with national objectives and UN procedural standards.
✪Participating in the negotiation and review of UN resolutions, declarations, and strategic documents. Contributed to shaping language and concepts to reflect Cyprus’s policy stance.
✪Managing logistical and procedural aspects of Cyprus’s delegation to UN sessions and upcoming UNEA-7 (1st-12th December) including registration, registration for the National Statement and voting procedures, documentation, and coordination. Ensured smooth participation and compliance with UN protocols.
✪Representing Cyprus in high-level diplomatic negotiations and multilateral forums within UNEP and UN-Habitat. Ensured national priorities were effectively communicated and integrated into global environmental and urban development agendas.
✪Supporting the Permanent Representative in advancing Cyprus’s strategic interests across UN environmental and urban governance platforms. Provided expert input during policy discussions and intergovernmental consultations.

Jan. 2018 - May. 2024Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus to the Islamic Republic of Iran As the Commercial Counsellor of the Republic of Cyprus, I researched and analyzed the Cyprus, Iran, and Pakistan markets to map the key market players, competitors, and market access limitations. Among a range of functions I identified market and export opportunities and build strategic economic partnerships with public and private organizations in Iran and Pakistan. A few key achievements in this role include: ☛ Oversaw contract negotiations and provided problem-solving support in business, corporate, and government relations for a range of issues. ☛ Built up and maintained a solid network of business customers, opportunities, and contacts. ☛ Contributed to a 790% increase in Cyprus exports to Iran from €1.46M in 2018 to €13M in 2024 according to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus. ☛ Guided one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Cyprus in acquiring the OFAC license to engage in exports of pharmaceutical products to Iran. ☛ Coordinated, facilitated, and supervised the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry. ☛ In 2020 the Iranian newspaper Financial Tribune mentioned the Republic of Cyprus as the only EU member that achieved an increase in trade relations with Iran by 75.6% despite the re-imposition of strict U.S. trade sanctions on Iran.
