My role involves driving the modernization of statistical systems, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, and ensuring that the information we produce is reliable, timely, and accessible. I oversee the full life cycle of national data production — from survey design to data dissemination — ensuring compliance with international standards and alignment with Panama’s development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A key focus of my leadership has been the digitalization of statistical operations, from census mapping with geographic information systems to modern, API-ready dissemination platforms. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic direction and institutional strengthening of INEC.
Manage national censuses and major surveys, including:
-Censo Nacional de Población y Vivienda
-Censos Económicos
-Censo Agropecuario
-Encuesta de Propósitos Múltiples (EPM)
-Encuesta de Mercado Laboral (EML)
-Encuesta de Ingresos y Gastos de los Hogares (EIGH) Supervise core departments:
-Cartography and GIS (mapping, area segmentation, spatial analysis)
-Demographic Statistics (population, births, deaths, migration)
-Socioeconomic Statistics (poverty, gender, education, health, inequality)
-Economic Statistics (GDP, labor market, inflation, trade) Key Indicators Under My Oversight:

-Gender equality indicators
