Nov. 2016 - Aug. 2019London, UKThis is a specialist social work role that required one to work independently and remotely. The purpose of this role was to advice the Courts/Judges on what is in the best interests of children in line with the Children's Act 1989. I advocated for the voices of children by promoting their wishes and feelings in private and public proceedings if this was considered to be in their best interest. The case loads included working within private proceedings where parents are separating/divorcing and a child's Child Arrangements (previously called custody or contact) is contested. I would carry out Court duty which meant I held Triage meetings with Judges in their chambers, advised the parents lawyers and mediated between the parents where there are no safeguarding issues. I worked on cases of foreign enquiries by completing analytical reports for those countries Courts and made recommendations. I worked on International and Internal Removal cases (i.e if a parent wanted to relocate with a child outside of the Jurisdiction of the UK). I worked with various cases of allegations and counter-allegations of domestic abuse. I embarked on various trainings of domestic abuse which included the new format of Child Impact Framework using Cafcass well-researched tools to assess parental conflict, parental alienation and types of domestic abuse. I was often praised by my organisational skills, planning, use of research and risk assessment/analysis as Court Reports were required within a specific time scales. I gave evidence in Court at least twice every week over the years. I read Court bundles regularly and communicated with parents lawyers.
