Jun. 2019 - Jun. 2021Kodiak, AlaskaTeaching Pastor of Kodiak Community Baptist Church. Emphasis on reaching a city with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ. Multiplication through discipleship. Serving a community through innovation and gospel saturation. We accepted the role with 30-50 core members in attendance and the church grew to 260 within 12 months. After the second year in ministry, we baptized more than 20 new people. We also led a community-based volunteer team to deliver groceries, to talk and pray with people in need, through the pandemic and community lockdown. 7 other churches joined in this effort and more than 2,500 people were served. Additionally, during the pandemic we were met with the board's decision to return to the traditional style of worship and church and the new direction of community outreach was not desirable. We ultimately handed the pastoral role to the elder board as we were unable to agree on the core mission of the church; Share the truth of God's Word, the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ, that everyone would have an opportunity. The Why, and What is typically easy to agree upon, it's the How that makes it hard for alignment. We chose to not plant a new church in Kodiak, AK as there were incredible churches to attend. Rather, we decided as a family to relocate back to the lower 48 and are grateful for our time served in a remote part of North America. http://Kodiakcbc.org
