Chantier Naval et Industrielle du CamerounPiping & Structural Draftsman, then Planning Support
Jun. 2006 - Mar. 2011Douala V, Région du Littoral, CamerounDuring this period, CNIC led several major offshore projects, including: - The construction of the SAIPEM TAD barge (Tender Assisted Drilling), an international project delivered for the Italian company SAIPEM. - The maintenance shutdown of the TRIDENT 14 oil platform, owned by Transocean and operating off the coast of Cameroon. These technically and safety-demanding projects marked an important step in developing local expertise in offshore engineering and industrial maintenance. Role and key achievements: - As a piping and structural draftsman, I contributed to the development of isometric drawings, equipment layout plans, and fabrication details for prefabrication workshops and field teams. - Direct contribution to the technical compliance of fabrications in collaboration with method, quality, and production engineers. - On the TRIDENT 14 project, I worked with maintenance teams to prepare structural and piping interventions, incorporating lessons learned from the field.
- Toward the end of the projects, I began exploring planning and progress monitoring tools, which marked the beginning of my transition into project planning—a path I fully embraced afterward. Results: - Successful participation in two flagship projects for CNIC. - Acquired a strong technical foundation in offshore piping and structural works. - Initiated my specialization in industrial planning, which shaped the next steps of my career.
