LOTUS (Lifting Ourselves Through US)Executive Director
Jan. 2009I founded LOTUS in 2011 and have strategically partnered and facilitated ever since. I have created and co-created activities that align with Next Generation Science Standards and National Common Core Standards and more importantly ones that align with the culture and learning styles of the students/people they engage. I expanded our reach and impact from zero schools and programs to 10 within our first year of having our CPS vendor number. I have planned and operated a successful summer program with 8-weeks of activities and I'm poised to repeat and expand enrollment. Our data shows that I am excellent with creating events and lessons that capture the whole child/participant in creative ways, and also that I am successful with expanding our reach and impact. I have also planned many successful fundraising events to support our programming. I have secured over 10 small and mid-level grants for LOTUS totaling over $70,000 within the past year and a half (2022-2024). I've assembled a highly skilled and experienced board and have appointed experts as executive members of LOTUS. My success is 100 percent due to my industry knowledge, immersion in study related to my field, and my effortless relationship building/partnerships. I am a natural relationship builder and have a gift for identifying the strengths of people and groups and then strategically placing them in spaces that benefit them and the people we serve.
