Jul. 2015 - Feb. 2017South AfricaI manage the day to day operations of the Africa Zone Finance Department along with all corporate tax and regulatory reporting responsibilities, including the National Credit Regulator. The Africa Zone includes operations covering East, West and Southern Africa (including South Africa) which all get supported centrally from the Johannesburg office. I created and managed a framework that monitored the achievement of goals and objectives. I also ensured that the procurement approval system was properly embedded in the procurement process. During my tenure in this role I set-up and managed an export compliance team who serviced SABMiller Procurement and assisted in completing successful trial shipments. I also managed to secure tax savings and recoveries to the value of R4.5 million.
SABMiller AfricaGeneral Manager: BREWEX
Aug. 2012 - Jun. 2015South AfricaI had full operational control and oversight of a multi billion Rand procurement and buy-sell operation servicing the SABMiller Group's beverage entities spanning across 17 African countries. Whilst General Manager of BREWEX I successfully negotiated our exit from our outsource partner agreement within a very tight deadline and a tough legislative environment, which resulted in substantial savings for the company. In my final year as GM I managed to secure cost saving of R12.7million and achieve stretch target of over $4 million EBITDA.
