Jan. 2024 - Jul. 2024Sint MaartenPlanning and execution of logistics, including managing budgets and reporting to funders were some of my main tasks in this role. As part of the project I implemented stakeholder engagement of divers through citizen science. Additionally, two successful shark tagging expeditions, were organised, where I was directly involved in deploying acoustic tags. Interviews with regional shark experts were conducted throughout the project to integrate Local Ecological Knowledge. Education and outreach efforts were also included in this project, such as a poster presentation and shark tagging raffle in the Heineken regatta. The project has obtained very promising preliminary results.
