In this role I was responsible for two key areas, namely the technical division and the training division. In the technical role I was responsible for business development, quality control, support and supply chain development. In the training role I was responsible for both system and curriculum development across the African business. In my initial role within Goodyear I was contracted to head up the Technical Training Division for the Retail Division. In this role I was responsible for three key areas, the first of which was the establishment and roll out of technical standard operating procedures and standards across 7 different kinds of retail factories. The second of which was the management of a manufacturing facility which was responsible for bespoke projects within the retreading division. The third of which was the management of the technical training team which consisted of two technical trainers. In the technical division role I was responsible for setting standards and auditing set standards across 17 different factories throughout the country, establishing and running management forums to deal with new product launches and market challenges. In the manufacturing role I was responsible for business development, strategic account management, claim reviews, staff management with a total staff compliment of 10 people, 9 factory workers and 1 administrator. In the technical training role I was responsible for the design and development of training programs aligned to company and industry standards, establishing national training plans and ensuring that all factory staff were trained in a two year cycle through the team of trainers.
