This included hiring, interviewing, scheduling, and training, under limited supervision and resources. Created, executed, and collaborated with organizations across campus and the city of Tuscaloosa, and surrounding cities to provide educational programming and events/experiences for minority students. Managed the social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, increasing our following with more than 300 followers in one year. Attended university-wide orientations, trainings, and fundraised to bring speakers, programming, and artists to the university; for example, Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of Black Lives Matter, in October 2018 or the annual BlackOut event. Established innovative ways to engage and interact with students about diversity, equity, and inclusion through student coordinated programming and events. Organized and coordinated Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, and LGBT+ History Month for three consecutive years in collaboration with several campus student and community organizations and academic departments, to include HIV testing, “comprehensive sex-ed talks”, and LGBT+ Ally trainings.
