Sep. 2024 - Feb. 2025Monitoring and taking consistent effective action when tackling problems with attendance, behaviour, achievement, and their general welfare Creating and maintaining a clear, coherent log of safeguarding concerns and all subsequent actions taken using CPOMS (Child Protection Online Monitoring System). This log includes details of all concerns, communications, meetings, actions, referrals to external agencies and any further follow-up. Furthermore developing and maintaining positive productive relationships with these external agencies Acting as a source of advice for all staff on matters around how to best safeguard the children and themselves. Keeping all staff up to date with any change in policy or procedure Forming and maintaining positive, supportive and constructive with parents, empowering them around how to best manage risks, parenting and emotional well-being. Acting as a link between school and home by using phone calls, emails, arranging and attending meetings and home visits Monitoring attendance and data on a daily basis, to identify children that may be vulnerable and providing them and their families to improve this. To further investigate reasons for low-attendance, whether it may mental health, bullying, school refuser, deeper family struggles and any other reasons and to work with external authorities and charities to intervene to improve a family’s situation Keeping up to date with the newest and most relevant training opportunities Creating a culture where all children feel heard at all times and building trusting and professional relationships so they feel safe Being aware of children on children protection plans (meaning the family has involvement from the local council’s children’s services), children in care homes and young carers, ensuring these extra-vulnerable children’s provisions are being met. Supporting all staff and children overcome and prevent discrimination of race, religion, gender, disability, sexuality and status.
