Jan. 2010 - Dec. 2013• Elected by the citizens of Stafford County to provide leadership in the creation, approval, and adoption of a $240,000,000.00 budget used to support 30 schools. • Serve as primary contact in communication with Stafford County Board of Supervisors; develop a bi-monthly agenda for business meetings conducted in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order. • Attend all Board and ancillary meetings and promote an environment of consensus amongst the 7 elected board members regarding decisions that affect the school division as a whole. • Create, review, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure a safe and equitable environment for the 3,000 employees, and 27,000 students in Stafford County. • Establish and maintain working relationships with our senators and delegates in the general assembly to keep abreast of and influence legislative matters that affect our locality and surrounding districts. • Develop pathways for cooperation between the SCPS and local businesses to enhance our student’s education. • Actively pursuing ways that this board may provide a 21st century education for our students who will become our future workforce and leaders.
