Background & Education I was born in Ankara – Turkey, in 1972. I had my primary and secondary education in TED Ankara College. I got my BS degree from Middle East technical University (METU) Management Department in 1995 with a full 4.00 CGPA - as the valedictorian of the class in the entire University. I received my Master of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1997 which I again finished as the valedictorian of the class with a full 4.00 CGPA. I got my PhD in Marketing at the Istanbul Bilgi University in 2018 which I finished in less than 3.5 years again as the valedictorian of the class with a full 4.00 CGPA. Work Experience In my professional career of more than 20 years, I worked in four financial institutions – namely, Finansbank Group (6 years), International Finance Corporation (IFC - the private sector arm of the World Bank Group)) (2 years), İş Investment (9 years) and Gedik Investment (3 years). I served as the major Investment Officer responsible from Croatian and Turkish Banks in IFC. I assumed various positions & responsibilities in different banks of the Finansbank Group in the fields of trade finance, corporate, investment and private banking. In 2006, I was employed by İş Investment where I established the Marketing Department and assumed the Head of Marketing position responsible from development and coordination of the entire company’s marketing strategies and activities. During my entire office time as Head of Marketing, Is Investment achieved to be the market share leader in all of the investment products lines. After 9+ years of an extensive experience in the marketing of investment products & services in İş Investment, I joined Gedik Investment –the largest investment company among the non-bank related financial intermediaries– as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) where I implemented the full rebranding of the entire company and established the all-encompassing marketing structure.
