Fuller's Brewery The AnglersRestaurant Manager
Apr. 2019 - Jul. 2020Teddington, Greater London, United KingdomThe Anglers restaurant is one of the biggest and most vibrant locations on the river Thames. My role as the restaurant manager, whilst also studying full time, demonstrates a range of proven abilities: • Sales and service are at the forefront of the role and a real motivator for anyone in the industry, as these two points go hand in hand with tips, or “commission” and a driven factor for additional income. • An extraordinary work ethic is required to successfully manage a restaurant and still receive a distinction at postgraduate level, the latter of which I am on track to achieve. Studying throughout the day and working throughout the evening can create some lack of will for people but I found myself becoming more motivated as time went on to achieve success in both areas. • The ability to build lasting customer relationships is a driving factor for the retention of such customers, with the Anglers having just refurbished to accommodate growing numbers of guests, I see this factor of building relationships a key characteristic of mine. • I excel at multitasking and prioritising tasks, demonstrated by the many aspects of my role, including but not limited to, supervision, budgeting, planning, compliance, promotion, ordering and customer service. • Teamwork and creating successful environments I feel is a fundamental aspect of management and a key transferable skill of mine. The role can be emotionally challenging, but the team driven aspect creates a real sense of community and joint purpose leading to a successful business. As a Restaurant Manager some of my tasks included: - Payroll completion of weekly rotas and managing payroll % in line with weekly revenue patterns - Being part of the weekly managerial meetings where various strategic and financial decisions were discussed in order to reach financial goals
