I have a non-profit organization focusing on the environmental issues back in Indonesia. I started this organization when I was in high school with some of my high school friends. My organization name is Green Earth Community (GEC). GEC consists of 5 divisions: water conservation, composting, green technology, green art, cultivation, and environmental education. We educated people on how to treat our planet kindly by recycling products, reducing waste and pollution. We reached 23 elementary schools and 5 junior high schools in Indonesia to help create an environmental club in their schools. We fundraised to build a compost center. Indonesia is developing country where most people do not care and do not know about conserving nature. Because of GEC, my High School received an award from the Indonesia Minister of Environment as "Green School" and won the Toyota Eco Youth Competition. I was honored to receive an award from ASHOKA-Indonesia as a young change maker in the 2012.
