In 2015 Barloworld bought the business, which expanded SmartMatta’s clientele to include big listed companies. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Branch Management and Strategy: • Managed the Western Cape Branch comprehensively, overseeing day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, including securing market share through regional expansion. 2. Financial Management and Reporting: • Successfully met profitability and financial return goals while improving operating margins within the region. • Ensured accurate forecasts and met reporting requirements, including budgeting, income statement analysis, reporting, and implementing cost-saving measures. 3. Compliance and Governance: • Maintained corporate governance, risk, and SHEQ compliance within the agreed Strategic Focus Areas. • Achieved BBEE and EE targets, promoting diversity within the region. 4. Sales Support and Client Relations: • Provided expert sales support, fostering optimal customer relationships and representing the company strategically. • Achieved high client retention rates and resolved issues while delivering exceptional service levels. 5. Operations and HR Management: • Efficiently managed operational warehousing and production, reducing energy consumption for environmental sustainability. • Effectively communicated HR requirements, ensuring the effective and efficient management of employees, including KPIs, Scorecards, Appraisals, Disciplinary actions, and Talent Management. • Coached, empowered, mentored, and developed staff for professional growth. ACHIEVEMENTS: • Successfully took over the Cape Town new building project midstream, which involved the design, management, and logistical activities for a custom-built building dedicated to the region.
