Mentem.LabCEO and co-founder
Oct. 2024Seattle, Washington, United StatesAs Co-founder and CEO of Mentem.lab, I'm leading a mission-driven team reimagining how primary care responds to depression and suicide risk. We’re building AI-powered tools that help non-mental health clinicians—family doctors, OB-GYNs, NPs, and PAs—confidently assess, refer, and follow up with patients experiencing mental health challenges. Our solution bridges the follow-up gap where too many patients fall through the cracks, automating evidence-based screenings (PHQ-9, C-SSRS), surfacing contextual insights, and streamlining care coordination. Key Responsibilities & Achievements: • Vision & Strategy: Defined and executed the strategic direction of MENTEM.lab, aligning AI innovation with real-world mental health challenges.
• Product Development: Led the design and development of an AI-driven conversational agent that administers the PHQ-9 and C-SSRS assessments, ensuring user-centered, empathetic experiences.
• Research & Evaluation: Established partnerships to evaluate the tool's impact on comfort, usability, and therapeutic alliance in college health clinic settings.
• Leadership: Built and managed a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and purpose.
• Business Development: Secured key relationships with stakeholders, partners, and early adopters to support research, funding, and scaling efforts. At MENTEM.lab, we aim to leverage AI and technology to make mental health screening more accessible, engaging, and effective—driving measurable improvements in patient outcomes and clinician workflows.
