City of TorontoSupervisor - Toronto Special Events
Aug. 2008 - Apr. 2013At Toronto Special Events I proved myself as a programmer/producer with particular skill for managing multiple large projects concurrently. I brought my established management style to event execution and developed excellent working relationships with the Production Unit and their crews, especially as a Stage Manager where I excelled at calling complex live performances. I was entrusted with producing some of the largest events within the Unit’s portfolio, including the Olympic Torch Relay Celebration which I brought from vision through execution resulting in a performance at Nathan Phillips Square attended by 50,000 people featuring 200 artists in 19 performances over 3.5 hours, including, music, dance, circus and sport presentations. I was a part of the producing team of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, one of only three signature events in Toronto that attracts 1,000,000 attendees. I was responsible for managing our relationships with major arts and cultural organizations including: ROM, AGO, Gardiner Museum, and OCAD University to name a few, in addition to working with a curator and technical supervisor to produce fifteen commissioned projects.
