Feb. 2025ZambiaI lead the Project Management & Innovation function at ZICTA, with responsibility for strengthening project delivery across the institution and driving execution of high-impact national ICT programmes.
I oversee a portfolio of flagship systems and digital infrastructure projects, including the Transport Information System (XamTIS), the SIM & IMEI Registration System (SIRS), and the National Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). These are complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives involving regulators, government institutions, and private sector partners, with national-level implications.
In this role, I am establishing the project management function from the ground up, introducing governance frameworks, standardised reporting, and delivery structures to improve visibility, accountability, and execution performance. A key focus has been addressing gaps in project reporting by developing real-time dashboards and structured reporting tools to support executive decision-making.
I coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, engineers, and policy stakeholders, ensuring alignment from planning through to implementation. My work also involves resolving delivery bottlenecks, managing dependencies (including procurement and technical readiness), and ensuring projects stay on track against timelines and scope.
Beyond delivery, I drive innovation within the function, identifying opportunities to improve processes, digitise workflows, and embed more agile ways of working across project teams.
This role marked a shift from coordination to leadership owning delivery outcomes, shaping how projects are executed at institutional level, and ensuring alignment to Zambia’s digital transformation agenda.
Bank of ZambiaProject Management Consultant
Feb. 2022 - Jun. 2024ZambiaI led the delivery of two critical infrastructure projects for the Central Bank of Zambia: a core enterprise network upgrade and the implementation of a hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) environment, both aimed at strengthening system performance, resilience, and security within a highly regulated environment.
My role covered end-to-end project execution across both initiatives from planning and scheduling through to implementation, testing, and close-out. I worked closely with technical teams and senior stakeholders to define requirements, align priorities, and ensure delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.
I oversaw vendor sourcing, evaluation, and contract management, coordinating multiple third-party providers to deliver complex infrastructure components. This included supervising technical implementation, quality assurance, and documentation to ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
Throughout the engagement, I actively managed risks, resolved delivery bottlenecks, and maintained structured reporting and communication through stakeholder engagements, workshops, and progress reviews.
Delivering these projects in parallel strengthened infrastructure reliability and positioned the Bank’s ICT environment for improved scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
ZICTAProject Coordinator
Feb. 2014 - Feb. 2025ZambiaI spent 11 years coordinating the delivery of national ICT programmes under the Universal Access and Service Fund (UASF), supporting projects that expanded digital access and infrastructure across Zambia.
During this time, I contributed to the rollout of ICT infrastructure to over 500 primary and secondary schools and 70+ tertiary institutions, including computer labs, LANs, and internet connectivity (VSAT/fibre). I was also involved in broadband expansion initiatives, supporting connectivity in underserved and rural areas.
On the digital side, I supported the coordination of the Digital Curriculum Content Development initiative, which delivered 1,100+ interactive eLearning lessons aligned to the national curriculum. The platform was intentionally designed to be inclusive, with dedicated content for learners with hearing impairments through sign language–supported lessons, improving accessibility for special education learners.
My role covered end-to-end coordination, from concieving project concepts, planning inputs and procurement support to implementation tracking, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across government, service providers, and cooperating partners.
I also contributed to improving delivery efficiency and cost outcomes, supporting initiatives that resulted in multi-million dollar savings through the use of local developers and optimized project approaches.
This experience grounded me in delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programmes at national scale and laid the foundation for my transition into leading project management and innovation.
