Supported a diverse user community consisting of scientists, doctors, nurses, patients, and visitors. Staying within an $11M T&M GSA annual budget, managed teams with diverse specializations in network design, research & development, implementation (wireless, data center, consolidation), security, and operations (Tier 2, Tier 3). Staff specialized in networks (Cisco routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, and backbone); systems (AD, SecurID, LDAP, OpsWare, Remedy Ticketing System, Websense, VPN (remote access), ListServ, DNS, Linux and UNIX); Data Center; Network Operations Center; and all aspects of network engineering. Introduced, produced, monitored and reported metrics to measure quality and quantity. Recruited the best and the brightest; began the successful implementation of the SRA College Hire Program and the Talent Maturity Lifecycle that brings in new talent, while growing careers of mature talent, reducing costs for the Federal government. Supported HHS Certification and Accreditation efforts (Internal Audits, Risk Assessment Analysis, Contingency Plan/Disaster Recovery Plan (C/DRP), System Security Plan. Planned, coordinated, facilitated, documented and reported weekly progress on multiple operations projects and reported to government. Led, coordinated and won $5 million, two-year Network Access Control contract for NIH. Provided oversight for project as the first of its kind at the NIH. Led, coordinated and won $5 million Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) contract at the Health and Human Services (HHS) level. Hired and managed team to consolidate all external Internet connections throughout HHS through three TIC facilities.
