Mar. 2020Bengaluru, Karnataka, IndiaMy mother, at the age of 80, started UGHE Snacks & Sweets during the 1st lockdown as she was bored! She enjoys cooking, but enjoys feeding people more! Her homemade snacks and sweets are made against orders only, and over the past 2 years she has developed a loyal customer base. Now, she not only supplies througout India, but has exported as well. Jan. 2011Bengaluru, Karnataka, IndiaHelp Educate A Child is a NGO which has been working with remotely located schools in MM Hills (about 5 hrs. drive from Bangalore) for the past 10 years. Currently, we support 24 schools and 19 anganwadis, approx. 4,000+ children. Many of these schools have no drinking water, nor electricity, nor access roads. HEAC has supported the schools in many ways, including providing solar lights, solar pumps to make water available in the schools, provide notebooks for all children every year (as their parents are too poor to buy them notebooks). conduct dental/medical camps, conduct seminars for teachers and students, have started libraries and computer centers in all the schools we support. It is an activity which is very close to my heart, visiting these schools, seeing the conditions the people there live in, keeps me grounded.
