Jan. 2021 - Feb. 2025United States, Salt Lake City
Over 5 years, I have completed over 1,000 investigations as a Medicolegal Death Investigator at the Utah Office of the Medical Examiner’s Office. In my current role as Investigations Internship Coordinator, I revitalized the internship program by developing a hands-on 10-12 week curriculum aimed at enhancing student engagement, creating accessible resources and providing mentoring for those pursuing a career as an investigator.
As a Medicolegal Death Investigator II, I have conducted 1,050 scene investigations, gathered and catalogued evidence, interviewed witnesses, and collaborated with law enforcement and medical examiners. My training in forensic skeletal analysis enables me to assist in anthropological cases, including obtaining osteologic samples for DNA extraction and aiding in the identification of unidentified remains.
Previously, as an Opioid Specialist, I investigated around 60 opioid overdose fatalities while managing evidence documentation and maintaining chain of custody.
My educational credentials include a Master’s in Forensic Medicine and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Forensic and Biological Anthropology. I hold Diplomate certification from the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators, with Fellow certification anticipated in 2025.
