Medicolegal Death Investigator
Office of the Chief Medical Examiner OfficeMedicolegal Death Investigator
Mar. 2025United States, BostonIn my role at the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, I engage directly with families to coordinate the identification of decedents, notify next of kin, and facilitate the release of decedents to funeral homes. I gather essential information from law enforcement and EMS to compile the necessary documentation, including law enforcement reports, medical records, and EMS reports, to support the medical examiner's examination. Additionally, I perform physical and visual body examinations and review death certificates for decedents who have chosen cremation as their final disposition. My focus is on providing compassionate support to families during this challenging time while ensuring thorough documentation and coordination.
