Manage all pending and active litigation, which includes managing outside counsel or the attorneys from the Office of the Attorney General. Perform personal service agreements from procurement (RFP) to execution of contracts. Notable Achievements:
*Designed and oversaw the implementation of a labor arbitration award to allow 12K+ employees to change their retirement plan election; assisted outside counsel in negotiating and drafting a closing agreement with the IRS.
*Coordinated efforts with outside tax counsel for 5 years to ensure retirement plan compliance with IRS regulations; made requests to voluntarily correct aspects not in compliance and requested private letter rulings.
