• Understand the business operations of each startup/SMME in all Sloane's programs.
• Research and comprehend value/supply chains within the sectors of startup/SMME
• Develop and oversee market access plans, including timelines, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Analyze trade barriers affecting access to markets
• Support SMMEs/startups through trade shows, networking platforms, and exposures to access new markets.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing market access.
Access to Capital
• Understand various financing models, including angel investing, venture capital, and traditional lending institutions.
• . Build and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, donors, and funding agencies to facilitate access to capital.
• Evaluate the feasibility and suitability of different funding mechanisms based on project requirements and risk profiles.
• Connect and link SMMEs/startups to lending opportunities for financial growth.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and funding opportunities to optimize funding strategies.
• Ensure compliance with funding guidelines, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Cultivate partnerships and networking opportunities to expand the organization's funding network.
• Monitor and track the utilization of funds, ensuring compliance with funding requirements & regulations.
Access to Mentors:
• Build a pool of mentors from private and public sector
• Assign mentors to each startup/SMME, considering budget constraints and remuneration.
• Monitor mentor-mentee relationships, ensuring obligations are met.
• Host an annual mentors/mentees networking session.
Alumni Network:
• Establish and manage a database of all SMMEs/Startups in Sloane's programs.
• Promote alumni achievements, success stories, and opportunities
• Collaborate with relevant departments to offer alumni-exclusive benefits, such as continuing education opportunities, and access to facilities/resources
