Jaclyn Gordyan LLC | Nature Artist & SculptorArtist
May. 2000United StatesMy work taps our ancestral connection to nature and the stories that connect us all. I've been an artist for nearly 25 years. Working in various mediums, including oils, acrylics, ceramics, raku, woven textures, gouache, graphite and photography. My work has evolved over the years, starting in realism and expanding now to abstract, organic and sculptural. I've earned a BFA and studied art history, design and learned classic painting techniques. It wasn’t until years later I combined nature and abstract for the first time. It was electric and intuitive all at once. I knew she had found my voice and my medium for expression. I've shown my work in New York, LA, Chicago and the Midwest. I've studied under artist Ty Nathan Clark. My work is informed by Art Informel, Abstract Minimalist and Neo-Expressionism and artist such as Leonardo Drew, Louise Bourgeois, Ursula Von Rydingsvard, El Antasui, Andy Goldsworthy, and Ibrahim Mahama. My process is inspired by my practice of studying and collecting nature bits I started when I was a kid. I've always been curious about the small moments in nature and the quiet grounding it can bring if you pay attention. Through my work I invite others to linger on these small moments and find more connections to nature and each other.
