Jul. 2014 - Aug. 2018Advise Divine Savior Holy Angels (DSHA) High School students on the college search and application process; meets with parents/guardians as necessary. Serve as the liaison between colleges/universities and DSHA. Develops relationships with college admissions personnel, coordinates visits to college campuses, and hosts college events at DSHA. Organize content and maintains the quality of College Center resources, bulletin boards, and college admission content in Naviance. Advise seniors throughout the application and decision-making process. Guide juniors through the college search process, including individual meetings, letter of recommendation requests, and other work in preparation for senior year applications. Advise each junior and senior to develop and implement an individualized college and career plan. Assist with career development programming for students grades 9-12. Deliver classroom-based instruction on issues related to college and career readiness. Process and organizes scholarship applications. Collaborate with school counselors, faculty, and other staff on individual student concerns as well as student trends. Coordinate DSHA college readiness initiatives (e.g., annual college bus tour) for students who are underrepresented at post-secondary institutions. Represent DSHA at national and state college admissions conferences, career development trainings, and regional workshops. Keep current on trends in college admissions and financial aid; educates the school faculty and administration. Provide student mentoring on a semi-monthly basis. Manage employees regarding work allocation, training, performance evaluation, and production assignments of the College Center to ensure standards are maintained. Collaborate with the Director of Student Services to assess current initiatives, develop long-range plans, and identify strategies to improve the services provided to students, families, and staff.
