Contracted through Brunel Energy to orchestrate several large industrial and commercial construction projects at the Copper Smelter and the Kennecott Utah Copper Open Pit Mine. Delivered substantial support during the planning phase of two critical smelter shutdowns; demonstrated outstanding ability to coordinate, organize and effectively guide over 150 craft workers, contractors, suppliers and other parties engaged or affected by the project, towards the most appropriate accomplishment of mutual goals and objectives. As a Project Engineer, held accountable for the performance of portions of the Cornerstone $1.2 billion Mine Expansion Project; spearheaded the RFP and procurement processes for over $120 million of new buildings and mine facilities structures; obtained construction permits, regulated RFI’s and submittals, facilitated contractor onboarding, regulated costs; kept current with market and industry trends. Acted as the permit liaison between Salt Lake County and Rio Tinto; charged with preparing RFP’s and administrating the bid process for most of the $120 million of new mine facilities projects. As a Construction Coordinator, responsible for the delivery of multi-million dollar projects such as the 2014 Smelter Shutdown project ($170 mil), 2012 Smelter Shutdown project ($58 mil). As a Project Manager, responsible for the delivery of a single bay truck maintenance shop, chlorination building and system for potable water, two island diesel fueling center for heavy haul trucks, 12 miles of new 44 KVA power lines, 19,000 linear feet of 6” buried gas line, 5 miles of HDPE buried process water line, new pump house, and re-commissioning of a 1.5 million gallon water storage tank.
