This 4-week (150h) project involved radiometric and noise measurements on test pixels, FPA characterization using IRXCAM, and hands-on manual probing.

Apr. 2014 - Apr. 2014CTEx Office, Rio de Janeiro- RJParticipated in an intensive short course on Microbolometer Technology conducted by researchers from the Institut National d'Optique (INO), Canada, at the CTEx (Centro Tecnológico do Exército) facilities in Brazil, from April 24-30, 2014. This 1-week (37.5h) course covered key topics including ROIC design & architecture, bolometer detector fundamentals, bolometer detector manufacturing technology, and in-process and post-fabrication testing. The course provided an in-depth understanding of the principles, technologies, and applications of microbolometers, enhancing my knowledge base in thermal imaging devices. This was part of a technology transfer initiative aimed at supporting the Brazilian Army's capabilities.

Jun. 2009 - Feb. 2023Brazilian Army Tech CenterAs an Optoelectronics Engineer and Project Manager at the Brazilian Army Tech Center (CTEx), I contributed to the development and enhancement of Brazil's technological capabilities in infrared systems and optronics for over 13 years. My responsibilities included: Project Management: Led the development of the first Brazilian thermal camera prototype for military applications, the Monocle OLHAR VDN. This involved overseeing all stages of the project, from initial design to testing and validation, ensuring alignment with military requirements and specifications. Technology Transfer: Spearheaded international technology transfer agreements with Canadian, French, and South African companies, facilitating the acquisition of advanced infrared systems and optronics technologies. This involved negotiating partnerships, managing collaborative projects, and ensuring the successful integration of new technologies into Brazilian defense systems. System Specifications: Served as the lead engineer at CTEx responsible for defining the specifications of surveillance and detection systems, portable systems, and optronics for infantry, drones, and vehicles. This included conducting detailed requirements analysis, developing technical specifications, and ensuring compliance with military standards. Electro-Optical Lab Management: Managed the electro-optical lab and oversaw thermal camera characterization, including performing critical tests such as MRTD (Minimum Resolvable Temperature Difference), NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference), SiTF (Signal Transfer Function), and NUC (Non-Uniformity Correction) to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
