Jan. 2013 - Sep. 2013Newport Beach, CA• Trained to recognize normal and abnormal 12-lead EKGs/electrograms &interpret recordings as they relate to heart disease such as bradyarrhythmias, tachyarrhythmias, heart block, chamber enlargement and myocardial infarction. • Follow standard protocols utilized during an EP study & the procedures related to cardiac EP catheter placement when an arrhythmia is induced or during a spontaneous occurrence. • Assist EPs in diagnosing & treating cardiac arrhythmias in the Cardiac Cath/EP Lab specializing in the care of patients undergoing EP devices & ablations. • Play a key role in patient transportation, good communication & evaluation of patient status during the procedure, provide age & gender specific care, prep access site according to lab standard practice, & perform EKG lead placement, BP & pulse oximetry setup for hemodynamic monitoring. • Demonstrate ability to educate the patient of procedure expectations before, during & after the procedure. • Instruct the patient of post-EP study limitations & restrictions. • Preparation & breakdown of EP lab including fluid preparation with accurate drug concentrations, stocking rooms, daily QC checks, radiographic, hemodynamic & computer setup, & room cleanup/turnover. • Prepare sterile procedure tray & patient sterile field appropriately for specified procedure type. • Observe occupational & radiation safety regulations, acquire & accurately document pertinent patient data on Bard, Micropace, Carto, hemodynamic & X-ray systems, function in all roles rotating during the day as defined: 1) room circulator, 2) scrub, & 3) monitor. • Demonstrate knowledge regarding location, use, & troubleshooting of complex technical equipment/instruments such as specialty catheters, radial/brachial setup, coils, Nitric Oxide, cryo equipment, Bard monitoring system, Carto mapping, Biosense mapping, & Acuson Intra-Cardiac Echo (ICE). • Acquired RCES certification through Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI) in July 2014.
