Feb. 2017 - Mar. 2020Ottawa, CanadaMy partner and co-founder Frazer Nagy has always been a passionate supporter of local food systems. Following one of our microeconomics classes on adverse selection and paralysis of choice, we engaged in a discussion on how these economic phenomenon relate to the restaurant industry in particular. Little did I know, this conversation would set things in motion. Nearly a year later, following my return from Taiwan, Frazer approached me to join him in changing the way people see food. We met every weekend to discuss early prototypes and I soon became fixated on applying my design skillset in creating the next generation user experience. To date, we've bootstrapped and worked tirelessly. We're humbled by the experience thus far and are aware the journey is far from over. Currently we have nearly 50 clients in six cities, with our sights set on scaling by the end of 2018.

Each project presented an opportunity to learn a new skill or apply a new technique, which I acquired by diligently analyzing the work of industry professionals. More importantly, my growing skillset in photography, design, and web development was recognized by my peers, who frequently approached me for my services. After a year of casual projects, a friend approached me with a business proposition: CASA Productions was the result. Over the next several years, we grew our business and partnering with institutional clients across Ottawa.

Jan. 2010 - Oct. 2015Ottawa, Canada AreaIn addition to being able to study and work in a bilingual environment, I came to our nation’s capital with the goal of serving Canada and its national interests abroad. Alongside my studies, I had the opportunity to work as a Communications Assistant for former Member of Parliament, Royal Galipeau. As his Communications Assistant, I was responsible for conducting research on domestic and local issues, disseminating information to constituents, and providing support on a variety of administrative tasks and legislative projects within the office. The diversity of assignments I was entrusted with enabled me to adapt to new responsibilities with resourcefulness, confidence, and enthusiasm. Moreover, I gained experience in effectively and independently coordinating projects within the team. A staff member for nearly six years, I further benefited from Mr. Galipeau’s mentorship and expertise; his insight and unprecedented knowledge of our nation's political and cultural history, nurtured my appreciation for the political processes and the cultural differences of our nation that need to be respected and protected.
