Researched and created change documents, risk evaluations, and lessons learned documents. Served as SME on multiple relevant topics including accounting; budget preparation and management; expenditure, credit card, procurement, and revenue management; fleet; FMIS security and access; human resources; Workday payroll; inventory; and telecommunications. Built and deployed internal controls to manage fund disbursement according to policy and legal regulations. Drafted and delivered funding reports for senior leadership. Ensured compliance across MDE with various legislation and policies, including FOIA and Public Information Act, Chesapeake 2000 Bay, State Strategic Budgets, Managing for Results, Secretary’s Initiatives, and MFR Coordinators’ Workgroup assignments. Monitored staff performance, ran semi-annual evaluations, and recommended appropriate trainings.
• Key participant in team assembled to create new position descriptions and streamline responsibilities. Eliminated several positions as redundant and, based on new descriptions and duties, increased pay for 67% of effected positions.
• Consolidated financial reporting policies and procedures for company-wide monthly reconciliation and annual reporting. Established reporting dates, formatting requirements, and checklists, resulting in timely and consistent year-end reporting by 5 Administrators.
