Jan. 2013 - Apr. 2017Washington D.C.In charge of the editorial planning and management of the World Bank’s publishing program with more than 150 print and digital products each year including flagship publications, academic books, practitioner volumes, numerous translated editions into the Bank’s six official languages, and non-specialist titles. Managed a team of five editors, developed and oversaw their work plans, assigned projects, and advised them on manuscript assessment and development, permissions and copyright issues, budgets, schedules, and peer review. Acted at the primary liaison with the Bank’s author and research community, advising on the development and structuring of publishing programs, projects, and related events. Developed new digital products including the Bank’s Global Delivery Initiative’s Case Study Library, the Open Knowledge Repository, the World Bank eLibrary, as well as websites, online repositories, mobile phone and tablet applications, interactive e-atlases, and podcasts. Conceived, developed, and published new books and book series including the Atlas of Global Development and The World Bank Group A to Z with companion mobile apps and augmented reality features. Hired and supervised the work of contractors and vendors, including editors, translators, graphic and infographic designers, peer reviewers, and writers. Initiated and managed co-publication relationships and contracts including those with the Agence Française de Développement and the Human Security Center. Liaised with the World Bank Infoshop bookstore on book launches and promotion of high-profile Bank titles.
