Resource Development, Donor Cultivation and Stewardship • Manage a portfolio of over 30 donors comprising foundations, corporate and high-net-worth individuals • Work with VP of External Affairs to raise the philanthropic capital required to support annual fundraising goal/funding need • Collaborate with VP of External Affairs to Develop institutional and major gift annual grant pipeline • Collaborate with VP and CEO/President on donor cultivation strategies to increase the pool of institutional and major donors • Lead new donor cultivation and stewardship activities Proposal Development and Reporting • Work with Breaking Ground’s, Program, Housing, and Asset Management teams to determine the annual philanthropic dollars needed to support their respective programs and activities • Develop Letters of Interest, concept notes, grant proposals, applications, and corresponding program budgets to secure institution and major gifts • Manage a comprehensive calendar of key local and national foundation and corporations to ensure that renewals, new applications, and donor reports are submitted on time • Execute all donor due diligence requirements related to grant renewals and new funding requests • Prepare all grant-related reports for donors in accordance with grant agreements Other • Direct and manage all aspects of grant writer’s work • Work with program staff to implement special initiatives and activities related to Breaking Ground’s programs • Represent Breaking Ground at donor meetings, site visits, events, external meetings, and conferences
