Gerrie has experience in scriptwriting, cinematography and photography, specializing in landscapes, food and interiors. His work ranges from corporate films, music videos, documentaries and short films. At Silo the aim is to offer clients new and innovative films by incorporating passion, skill and creativity by taking clients’ vision and turning it into a masterpiece. Silo's aim and vision is to produce cinematic films that will set new standards in the South African film industry. We share the passion of each client and will provide a professional service from conceptualization right through to the final detail in the edit. Silo is privileged to have a range of contracted specialists in areas of directing, cinematography, editing and animation that have been working with Gerrie on various productions over the last few years. Gerrie is looking forward to where his creative path will take him next.

In my imagery, light is everything. The quality of the light and the handling of it allows the deepest moods to be created and evokes reactions in the viewer. I live by a philosophy that it is possible to do what you love for a living. Everyday that I spend planning and perfecting the art of "painting with light", a God-given phenomenon, I feel like I'm living that dream. My love for food photography has always been fueled by my passion for still images and my most vivid family memories. We would always find ourselves around a table, enjoying each other's company and celebrating with food. My food artistry aims to capture the same emotive quality and to highlight colours and flavours until the viewer experiences them as real. If your mouth is watering after seeing one of my images, then I have done my job! I often allow my knowledge of and expertise in filmmaking to spill over into my photographic applications in order to enhance the outcomes. I get a thrill from showing people, places and objects from a different viewpoint in order to allow viewers to get a fresh perspective on the subject material.
