During the competition season, Brian travels to events like the Tim Hortons Brier, and sets up the technology necessary for the competition to run. Meanwhile, he continues to work on digital media projects like websites, online videos, and social media campaigns, but also works in the marketing and development world rewriting manuals, and creating marketing materials aimed at the grassroots, club level. Finally, he continues to be involved in coaching and looks forward to working with all levels of Canadian curlers, from learn-to-curl programs to the highest level of international events.

Whether implementing a wiki based publication for LexisNexis, creating online courses for the Legal Education Society of Alberta, or managing social media projects for StudentWorkforce.ca, new media was clearly the focus. LBS has also worked on traditional media projects like providing creative services and writing for television commercials, and running the Toronto Film Challenge. Combining his love of media and his passion for curling, Brian was selected to work with Olympic Broadcast Services at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi.

Jan. 1999Since 1999, Brian has been on staff as a curling instructor at Trillium Curling Camp in Guelph (Ontario Curling Association). In 2007, he worked for the Canadian Curling Association at the National Training Centre in Calgary for a high performance junior clinic. He also helped the CCA in 2009 in preparation for their 2010 Olympic Scouting. In 2008 and 2009, he was invited to work at the World Curling Federation junior camp in Fuessen, Germany. In 2009, 2011, and 2013, he also coached at Halifax's Whitecap Curling Academy. In 2010, he was the head instructor on a team that introduced curling to Brazil, in a 10 day Sao Paulo exhibition. IN 2011, he taught a coaching course in Riga, Latvia on behalf of the WCF. He's also traveled to Norway, Scotland, Latvia, and Switzerland coaching a world-class womens team (Team Tirinzoni - Aarau PwC) who placed 5th at the 2013 World Championships. At several camps, clinics, and events in between I've taught curling at all levels ranging from beginner clinics to high performance athletes. He was the Team Leader for Canada's World Universiade team, which took home silver at the 2014 event in Granada, Spain. In 2016, he was Team Leader for the Canadian Junior National Men's Team at the World Junior Championship in Denmark and again in 2017, at the World Juniors in Korea. In 2020, he coached Team Laura Walker to an Alberta championship, and a berth at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. I was also helped develop, and was the head instructor for, the inaugural Rocks & Rings program, which brings a special curling program into elementary school gym classes.
