Family Development Extension Specialist Duties included staff supervision and development of programs to meet the needs of families in the Kanawha Valley. Developed curriculum for community based family education, delivered programming and evaluated outcomes. Responsible for the development of transitional housing programs on campus for students aging out of foster care, Internet safety education programming, parenting education workshops, and adolescent pregnancy prevention. As a Historically Black College, many of these programs were developed to reach out into the minority communities developing partnerships with low income housing agencies, African American Churches and neighborhood centers. While in this position I was actively involved in grant writing to develop and maintain programs securing over $800,000 in grants and donations in fiscal years 2000-2002.
