• Lead global defense-related vehicle or system projects from initiation through delivery
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource plans aligned with military contract requirements
• Develop integrated master schedules and monitor progress across engineering, supply chain, testing, and production
Defense Contract Management
• Ensure all project deliverables comply with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) or foreign military contract requirements (FAR/DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
• Work closely with contract managers to manage performance metrics, deliverables, and reporting
• Monitor earned value management (EVM) metrics and implement corrective actions as needed
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and field support teams to meet project milestones
• Serve as the central point of contact between internal teams and external military/government stakeholders
• Ensure alignment between U.S.-based and international operations for collaborative projects
Risk & Issue Management
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical, logistical, financial, and compliance-related risks
• Proactively manage project issues and ensure escalation protocols are followed
Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
• Act as the primary liaison with U.S. military branches, foreign military clients, and allied defense agencies
• Lead customer reviews, program status updates, and design milestone presentations
• Support field trials, testing, and evaluations (e.g., PMRs, CDRs, PDRs)
International Program Support
• Manage offset obligations and international subcontractor coordination, when applicable
• Ensure import/export compliance and cross-border collaboration with suppliers and government liaisons
Budget & Financial Oversight
• Track program budgets, including labor, materials, and external service costs
• Work with finance to manage cost reporting, forecasting, and financial performance reviews
• Ensure adherence to profitability, pricing, and cost-recovery targets
Quality & Compliance Assurance
• Support quality assurance plans and verification/validation testing
• Ensure systems meet MIL-STD and ISO standards applicable to defense manufacturing
Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain documentation for DoD audits, program reviews, and internal governance
• Provide regular program status reports to senior leadership and program executive offices (PEOs)
Leadership & Team Development
• Lead matrixed teams across functions and time zones, including engineering and production teams
• Coach junior project managers and ensure alignment with Oshkosh’s project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile adaptation for defense)
