Co Organizer for Dublin's "European Start-up Week " event
European CommissionCo Organizer for Dublin's "European Start-up Week " event
Dec. 2015 - Feb. 2016Dublin, IrelandStartup Europe Week is an initiative of Startup Europe / European Commission. Many global initiatives have been created to celebrate entrepreneurship. Typically, such events follow the Silicon Valley format (keynote motivational speeches, networking sessions etc). But Europe is different and requires something more when it comes to starting a business. Regional diversity and local policy making play a big role in shaping European startups. European regions are key players, from helping entrepreneurs to incorporate a company, to providing grants or taxes breaks. That is why we think it is critical to include the regions in this conversation. And that is exactly why we created the Startup Europe Week. From 1st to 5th February 2016, SEW partners all over Europe will present the projects sponsored by Startup Europe and all other relevant initiatives being developed in regional ecosystems. Entrepreneurs will have the chance to meet Startup Europe project leaders as well as some of the most relevant people supporting entrepreneurs in your region. During one week, the Startup Europe Week will unite all european regions to help entrepreneurs make a difference and turn Europe in a better place to start and grow a business.
Head of Operations (Co-Founder)
One for IrelandHead of Operations (Co-Founder)
Aug. 2015 - Jan. 2019IrelandOne for Ireland is a charitable movement, founded by young graduates, that was able to raise more than €400,000 in 4 days, where 100% of the money went to fund new projects that tackle youth homelessness & mental health in Ireland. By people to donate €1 for 1 cause in 1 day. We wanted to incorporate charitable donations into people’s daily lives. On a specific day every year, when you are paying for your goods in any major retailer, every customer will be asked, “Would you like to give One for Ireland?” The customer then has the option to add €1 to whatever they are purchasing. Along with voluntary donations through various platforms and movements online, One for Ireland hopes to eventually raise €1 million on the day. There are over 1,500 homeless children from over 500 families in Ireland today. With almost a 100% increase in children living in emergency accommodation or on the streets since 2014, this is the most pressing social issue in Ireland. We want to make a difference by distributing the funds to organisations (both national and local) that can make a real and positive impact in reducing the number of homeless young people in Ireland, and address the issues that face them.
