Aideen Wylde is an actor, writer and researcher with a PhD in Drama & Theatre Studies from the University of Limerick, with specialisms in ethnodrama and staging minority culture in Irish contexts. As an actor she trained at the TUD Conservatory of Music & Drama, and holds a MA in Theatre Studies from UCC. Her most recent play, FOUND is inspired by her personal connection to the province of Newfoundland, Canada and her late father Donal Wylde’s work there for the Radharc tv documentary series in 1981. The Forgotten Irish documentaries have gained something of a cult audience in both the Irish and Canadian ex-pat communities since. For BrokenCrow her first solo work, Levin & Levin, premiered in Cork and at Project Arts Centre in 2017. She has also appeared in a number of the company’s other productions – LifeDeath by poet Adam Wyeth. The company are currently Theatre Artists in Residence at the Garter Lane Arts Centre, and formerly at The Everyman Cork. Prior to this, Aideen co-wrote and performed the runaway success Victorian tennis comedy Love All, which toured the length and breadth of Ireland to critical acclaim, and to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012. She is a regular collaborator with Irish-Time Theatre Awards nominated Asylum Productions (Big Chapel X, Callan Energy Store, EVERYTHING MUST GO!). Their 2022 production EVERYTHING MUST GO!, which she co-wrote, was a largescale immersive piece taking place in an abandoned supermarket in her hometown of Clonmel and was a commentary on the ongoing dereliction crisis in smalltown Ireland. Aideen has trained at Grotowski Institute in Poland, with The Corn Exchange, and at The Actor’s Space in Barcelona. She has worked extensively in film, television and radio throughout her career.
