• Directed and supported the day-to-day operations of the 196,000 square foot facility
• Acted as a liaison between Spectra Corporate and the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA)
• Managed the venue scheduling calendar in partnership with UAA staff • Coordinated all aspects of events with event management team and promoters, including labor cost estimates and staffing levels, floor plans using Auto CAD, event ticketing, performer requirements, production, parking and traffic control, contractor services, facility HVAC and life safety, and financials
• Investigated and resolved any event-related complaints
• Participated as a key stakeholder in the recovery efforts for reopening the facility following the November 2018, 7.1 magnitude earthquake that had resulted in substantial damages to the building
• Secured all required permits for events from the Anchorage Police Department, Anchorage Fire Department, and University Police Department
• Administered the facility security processes including key assignments, access cards, lighting, CCTV monitoring, and the fire and life safety systems
• Supported the facility staffing by recruiting, onboarding, training, and managing the performance of staff; provided or coordinated staff training; worked with employees to correct deficiencies; implemented discipline and termination procedures • Facilitated the training of staff on alcohol enforcement procedures using TIPS (Training for Intervention ProdedureS)
• Negotiated and administered third party contracts including Security and the labor contract with IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees)
• Prepared and monitored the annual operating budget with the assistance of the Director of Finance
