• Create student events in the live performance category, including concerts, open mic nights, and culteral expression events for audiences ranging from 200 - 1,000+ attendees.
• Ensure events reach a broad range of students and promote the community-building mission of the events department
Event Coordination
• Communicate with necessary on-campus offices to regulate venue sites
• Coordinate with outside vendors and artists to finalize contracts and itinerary
• Create media campaigns by coordinating with the department’s marketing team to find effective branding strategies
• Act as point-person by transporting and organizing artists on the day of each event, communicating necessary information to event attendees, and occasionally hosting as the event’s MC
Management
• Lead a team of 6 first-year students who assisted in the event creation process and day-of coordination
Accomplishments
• Expanded upon a preexisting art gallery event to include a nonprofit organization from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles who utilize art therapy and virtual reality tactics to decrease levels of pain in their patients. The CHLA affiliate showcased their work, raised donations and gained student volunteers at the event.
