Nov. 2021 - Nov. 2024Madison, Wisconsin, United StatesAs a fully remote Operations Director, I was responsible for developing and documenting operating procedures and policies to ensure consistency in daily operations for two non-profits, while aligning with the organizations' mission and values. I took part in organizing & movement building campaigns by planning and helping to implement direct actions and community events that positively impacted low income, Black, Southeast Asian, and the LGBTQIA+ populations in Madison, WI. In 2023 and 2024, I led the organization's biggest community event (Health Day) and this event saw an increased participation from community members as well as from partner organizations that tabled at the event, year over year. As Co-Director of the Human Resources department, I led recruitment, general onboarding, training of staff, and conducted annual HR compliance audits. This included performing annual reviews of job descriptions, compensation, benefits, policies, and forms using an equity framework rooted in company values. I ensured operational compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements and was the liaison for insurance claims and for the dept of workforce development (WI). I also assessed technology systems to help streamline and scale operations. Additionally, I participated in the budgeting process with the CFO and the Directors team annually so that we were aligned with the organization’s long-term growth strategies.
